Facebook does it again: 267 million new data leaked to users

Facebook's data privacy problems don't end, because, after the last massive leak of more than 400 million data, the company incurred this problem again and has now revealed 267 million data.

As we know, Facebook has faced for a while many problems related to the processing of user data at the privacy level, and since the Cambridge Analytica case appeared, the company's privacy methods have become in doubt
According to the source, Facebook now displayed 267 million usernames and phone numbers in a database that appeared to have been online through December 4-18.
According to the report, hackers were able to use a "security hole" in the Facebook API that allowed them to access this amount of data, although they also mention the theory that this violation can be accomplished by "canceling" data from those users who have their file Personal on Facebook in general.
In this sense, we learned that Comparitech, in conjunction with security researcher Bob Diachenko, discovered that this data leak is the result of "illegal operation or misuse of the Facebook API by hackers from Vietnam".
Before this discovery, Diachenko notified the ISP that ran the server's IP address where this information was hosted, however, the data was also published in a hacker forum for download.
Although the means that cybercriminals use to access these accounts is not very clear, the source indicates that to avoid becoming victims of such attacks, we can change your Facebook account settings and make it available to friends only.
