Samsung is adding Weldbond as a resource because it makes more use of glue on its smartphones

According to new reports from South Korea, it seems that Samsung has added Weldbond to its supplier list because it is gradually relying on the use of more glue to collect its smartphones. In fact, we've seen Samsung use glue even more on its smartphones this year, including the Galaxy A Series and Galaxy M Series phones.
Meanwhile, the CEO of the Chinese Weldbond Company stated that of the 700 million smartphones manufactured in China this year, about 500 million smartphones used Weldbond products. Glue advantages include lower production costs thanks to a reduced number of operations required. Also, the previous assembly methods take up more space, while the glue allows using less space while providing more flexibility during the assembly process.
On the other hand, it is easy to replace the tape on the sides which performed better in terms of waterproofing, although sector professionals claim that the glue has undergone significant improvements in durability, waterproofing, and repair capabilities.
It is not only the Galaxy A Series and Galaxy M Series that got rid of the tape in favor of glue, the same thing Samsung did with the Galaxy Note 10 Series phones, and the upcoming Galaxy S11 Series phones are also expected to use adhesive widely.
