Samsung begins the mass production process of the Samsung 16GB LPDDR5 RAM chip

Five months after Samsung started mass production of the Samsung 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, the South Korean company has now started mass production of the Samsung 16GB LPPDR5 RAM in its Pyeongtaek factory. The company announced on its official website that this RAM is based on the second generation of 10 nm technology, and provides a data transfer speed of up to 5500 Mbps.
The platform consists of eight layers 12Gb and four layers 8Gb, which provides twice the capacity of DRAM present in many of the leading laptops and gaming computers today, in the words of the press release issued by Samsung.
The reason for the constant development of technology and capacity expansion is the high demand for energy, performance, speed, 5G features and improved AI like smart imaging.
Samsung also announced plans to produce 16Gb LPPDR5 products using the third-generation 10nm manufacturing technology later this year, which would push data throughput to 6400Mbps. In this way, the South Korean company can increase its competitiveness in the market of mobile devices, advanced computers, and cars.
