PlayStation 5 concept images hint at what Sony's 2020 console could look like

It’s one among the foremost highly anticipated gaming consoles of all time, and now new concept images have given us touch at what the PlayStation 5 could appear as if.

Gamer Dan Kuhl has created stunning renders supported the leaked PS5 devkit, using Sony ’s Dreams software.

Speaking to IGN, Mr Kuhl explained that while the planning is predicated on the devikit, he ‘tried to form it appear as if a more consumer-friendly realistic(ish) console.’

His concept features an equivalent distinctive V-shaped design seen within the devkit, although the console itself features a more rectangular design.

In terms of ports, the rear of his concept features several HDMI ports, a digital optical in, network port, PlayStation accessory port, and a USB Type-C connector.

Meanwhile, the front of the concept features a further four USB ports, alongside a centrally-mounted disk drive slot.

As with all concepts, the planning is yet to be confirmed by Sony.

So far, Sony has remained tightlipped about the PlayStation, although Jim Ryan, President at Sony Interactive Entertainment, has confirmed a launch date of ‘Holiday 2020.’

In a blog back in October, he said: “Since we originally unveiled our next-generation console in April, we all know that there’s been tons of pleasure and interest in hearing more about what the longer term of games will bring.

“Today I’m proud to share that our next-generation console is going to be called PlayStation 5, and we’ll be launching in time for holiday 2020.”
