At least 350 million iPhone users will upgrade to 5G models next year

    iPhone 11 Pro Max
If the rumors are true, Apple may launch its first iPhone 5G-enabled iPhones next year. This is a massive upgrade, as 5G is expected to be the new standard for communication in the foreseeable future. For this reason,
Wedbush analysts believe that more than a third of iPhone owners may upgrade next year.
Based on current statistics and figures, there are nearly 900 million iPhone users worldwide, and a third of these users will upgrade to models that support 5G in 2020, and this translates to 350 million units sold. “We think the iPhone 11 is just the front end of the“ massive upgrade,
”thanks to the 5G phones that will be unveiled in September and which will be the key to the massive upgrade that the street continues to underestimate.
This Wedbush report looks more optimistic compared to the previous report by analyst Gene Munster, who believes investors may have to prepare because the iPhone 5G models may not be those products that quickly disappear from store shelves. This is because, according to Gene Munster, 5G technology is still in its infancy,
so not all iPhone customers may see a need to upgrade.
However, all of this depends only on forecasts and speculations, and we will wait until 2020 to see how the iPhone 5G models perform.
