WhatsApp tests the feature of deleting messages in groups after a certain period of time has passed

WhatsApp occasionally adds new features to its chat app which is very popular all over the world. Last October, rumors surfaced that WhatsApp was testing a new feature called “Disappearing Messages”, but its function was not yet clear.
This feature is again spotted in the latest version of WhatsApp beta for the Android platform with version 2.19.275, and we have a better understanding of its purpose. Now, the feature has been revised and renamed to “Delete Messages”, and it allows users to remove messages after a specified period has passed, either an hour, day, week, month, or year.
According to reports, this feature aims to prevent group chats from taking up a lot of storage space on smartphones. To be fair, there may be other reasons to use this feature. "Delete messages" for group chats can only be accessed by the group moderator, so the settings for this feature apply to all participants in the group chat.
